"The boarding establishment gives positive support to the integrating of new arrivals from other countries. The schools’ ethos enhances the positive educational experience received."
ERO 2010
Nga Tawa’s boarding environment is a nurturing, stimulating yet structured ‘home away from home’. The boarding experience is characterised by a strong sense of community, life-long friendships and positive support and encouragement exchanged between peers. As students progress through the school from Year 9 to Year 13, boarders develop self awareness and self confidence, greater tolerance and a far greater appreciation of others, especially their parents and extended family.
Students boarding at Nga Tawa will live in boarding areas suited to their age and are assigned to one of three facilities: the Main Block, Marshall House and the Cottages for senior students. Each boarding house is under the care of a Year level Manager. Each house maintains a family atmosphere that is fun, while being continuously productive and supporting educational outcomes.
