"Pastoral Care programmes such as mediation, mentoring and leadership opportunities support students’ development.  The guidance network proactively ensures that students experience a sense of belonging and are able to achieve at their best possible level."

ERO 2010

In keeping with the School’s special character, Nga Tawa ensures day students are integrated into the daily routine and activities of boarders as far as possible. As new entrants in Year 9 they are incorporated into the daily schedule with the help of an on-campus peer mentor in order to ensure their inclusion with Nga Tawa boarders.

The school regularly opens their doors to the local community and accepts day students from a 25k radius, provided they qualify for a place. Day girl places are limited with 40 spaces available over five year levels (approximately eight in each Year level).
