BOARDING ASSISTANT

- On Call Relievers

We require On Call Boarding Assistants to supervise boarders during staff absences.

Boarding Assistants may be needed for weekday or weekend duties as well as possible overnight stays in boarding areas. Duties may include supervising evening and morning routines, and weekend activities.

 Boarding Assistants will have a positive, mature approach and the ability to assist in providing a disciplined but nurturing environment for students. Full training will be provided.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Boarding Assistant – On Call 

RESPONSIBLE TO:                             Principal

 DIRECTLY SUPERVISING:                  Students

 RELATING TO:                                  Boarding Managers
                                                        Parents 

The Boarding Assistant provides continuity in supervision of a group of boarders in the absence of their Boarding Manager. They need to be confident in interaction with a Year Group of boarding students ranging from Year 9 to Year 13 and to ensure maintenance of a disciplined yet caring environment liaising with other staff, parents and the Principal to achieve this. 

  1. Boarding supervision 
  • Assume responsibility for the designated group of boarders continuing to provide a positive, emotionally safe environment for the boarders in their care 
  • Liaise with Boarding Managers to create a consistent approach to managing the Boarding School 

    2.   Caregiver Responsibilities 

  • To provide a positive interactive environment for boarders and to bring encouragement, energy and enthusiasm to the position 
  • To regard boarders’ welfare and happiness as paramount at all times, whilst respecting the Code of Behaviour, for students and adhering to the Diocesan Board’s Code of Conduct for staff 

    3.   Other duties in consultation with the Principal.
