Nga Tawa School Archive was founded in 2006 and contains a wealth of material, such as photographs, minutes, chapel records, uniforms, memorabilia, school magazines, attendance registers and much more. Several items go back to the early settlement of the school in the 1890's.
The archive is situated in the main administration block of the school and comprises a records storage room, plus a large office/display space where the collection can be viewed.
Services:
• Assistance with research
• Spare copies of old school magazines and photographs available for sale
• Copies of material can be made upon request
• Donations of archival material including old uniforms, badges, books etc are always gratefully received
On-going initiatives:
1. Acquisition of display cabinets
2. Creation of displays
3. Identification of missing photographs and tracking them down for inclusion in the school collection
4. Scanning of important photographs to disc and storing off-site
The archive is usually open all day, every Wednesday during Term time, and visitors are most welcome.
