Walford School, Adelaide - an Exchange Partner

Exchange Programme

Year 10 Australasian Exchange Programme
Nga Tawa sends ten Year 10 students on an Australasian Exchange Programme every year in Term Two. Ten Australian students also attend Nga Tawa at the same time. Therefore, families ‘swap' a daughter for the same period. There is usually one week overlap at the beginning before ‘exchangees' move to their host schools, experiencing life in another country. School fees are paid as usual with ‘extras' negotiated between the families.

Year 12 North American Exchange Programme
Nga Tawa also offers Year 12 students the opportunity to attend the Baylor School in Chattanooga, Tennessee and The Ethel Walker School in Simsbury, Connecticut. The Year 12 Exchanges are for six weeks, with two weeks in the Christmas holidays and four weeks at the beginning of Term One. In 2010, four Nga Tawa students travelled to the USA. Students from the above schools attend Nga Tawa between 10 June and 20 July, during the summer break in the USA.

Year 12 European Exchanges
Exchanges with schools in Capetown, South Africa and Milan, Italy are being developed in 2010 for introduction in 2011.

Gap Years Abroad
Each year an increasing number of Nga Tawa students are opting to spend a year as a GAP tutor in England, Scotland, Switzerland and France.
