Equestrian

Approximately 70 girls of all levels ride at Nga Tawa and compete regularly in all disciplines up to National level throughout the country. Nga Tawa has an enviable record of equestrian success and is also one of a few schools in New Zealand accredited to teach Unit Standards to Level 4 in Equine Studies (the Sport Horse Strand). This National Certificate can be achieved within the main school curriculum.

Nga Tawa is a branch of the Rangitikei Pony Club and girls regularly represent their areas at Zone Dressage, Showjumping Championships and the New Zealand Pony Club Championships. Girls are also able to sit all Pony Club Certificates here at school.

Nga Tawa has its own horse transporter to ensure all riders have opportunities to compete regularly at local events.

There is a wonderful family atmosphere throughout the Equestrian Department which underpins the Special Character of Nga Tawa.
