Nga Tawa is a diverse school attracting students from across New Zealand and around the world

International students made up approximately 10% of our student roll. Our international students have the chance to experience life in New Zealand and learn in a student-focused environment, in classes of no more than 20 girls. Each girl is valued, encouraged and challenged to reach their own potential.

As our world is becoming increasingly more complex, the ability to relate and work effectively across cultures is a valuable asset to building a positive vibrant community and successful business. We call this Cultural Intelligence (CQ). Our Nga Tawa students have opportunities to explore this through; living together, overseas exchanges, learning languages and exploring concepts within global contexts. We encourage everyone to understand, appreciate and celebrate difference.

We have offered an Exchange Programme in year 10 which provides students the opportunity to experience school life in another country. The length of exchange is six to ten weeks. Our four Australian partner schools are St Margaret’s Anglican School in Brisbane, Pymble Ladies College, Abbotsleigh Anglican Girls’ School in Sydney and Walford Anglican Girls’ School in Adelaide.

Our staff are experienced with the educational, pastoral and social care of International students, helping them to become part of our Nga Tawa family. If you're interested in learning more, click on the International Enquiries box below.
