NGA TAWA REPEATS 100% NCEA LEVELS 1-3

02/Feb/2018

Nga Tawa students have achieved a 100% pass rate across NCEA Levels 1, 2 and 3 for the second year running. An impressive 97.2% of Nga Tawa's Year 13 students gained University Entrance.

Principal, Lesley Carter says this remarkable result is a reflection of the hard work and dedication of students, their families and her tireless teaching staff.

"There is no academic entrance test for enrolling at Nga Tawa. These results reflect the nurturing and encouraging environment that exists here and the individualised programmes we put in place," she says.

Carter says there were some outstanding observations noted in the recently released NCEA Principal's Report. Nga Tawa Level 1 and Level 3 results were the highest they have been in over five years. Students at NCEA Level 1 achieved significantly above the national averages with 45.5% attaining Excellence endorsed - 17.2% higher than other Decile 8 - 10 New Zealand schools.

"This is great endorsement of my team's number one goal to see Nga Tawa graduates emerge as confident, articulate and resilient young women who are equipped to succeed at tertiary education and live lives of great meaning," Mrs Carter says.
