Nga Tawa has a rich, varied and vibrant Humanities department in which every student has the opportunity to develop their talent in the performing and visual arts through to NCEA scholarship and diploma levels.
Extracurricular tuition is available at the school in music, speech, drama and dance and students are encouraged and supported to sit national and internationally recognised examinations as well as take part in competitions and local concerts. Every student at Nga Tawa can explore the arts through annual events such as the House Drama and House Music competitions and regular soirees (variety concerts). Student’s art pieces, installations and portfolios are regularly displayed in our art gallery.
