Nga Tawa Diocesan School is a special character boarding and day school for year 9-13 girls. For 131 years, we’ve been giving young women the opportunity to discover, develop and pursue their passions. Our Anglican faith has been the foundation of our school since its very beginning.
Our School Chaplain preserves and enhances our Anglican special character education and the spiritual wellbeing of our entire school community. The successful applicant will be responsible for the spiritual direction of our school and will lead our weekly worship and any celebratory events. They will support our team of Sacristans and arrange workshops for our students, providing forums for exploration of Christianity.
There are a few options as to how this role can be structured. The chaplain element of the role is approximately 20 hours a week. Ordination is not a requirement as this position has support from the Priest in Charge at our local Anglican parish, St Stephen’s. However there are up to 40 hours available if the applicant is a trained teacher with a strong faith and can plan and deliver our Religious Education programme or the applicant is from a social work or health background and wishes to work in our pastoral care team. Onsite accommodation is available to the successful applicant.
If you’re interested in helping motivated and engaged students to explore their faith, apply by sending a covering letter, a copy of your C.V and a completed application form to the Principal, Lesley Carter, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Expressions of interest for this position close on Friday 26 August 2022.
