Director of Sport

Nga Tawa is seeking an inspiring and highly organised Director of Sport to lead and strengthen our sporting programme. This is a key leadership role responsible for fostering excellence, participation and wellbeing through sport.

About the Role

The Director of Sport will provide strategic and operational leadership across all sporting codes and physical activity programmes. The successful applicant will be an effective communicator, confident manager and capable administrator who can build strong relationships across our school community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop sporting programmes
  • Provide clear leadership and direction to coaches, managers and staff involved in sport
  • Monitor and guide student progress within sporting codes
  • Ensure inclusive recreational opportunities that support student wellbeing
  • Manage the day-to-day administration of the sports department, including budgets, calendars, logistics and reporting
  • Oversee the organisation of major school sporting events and exchanges
  • Maintain clear, professional and proactive communication with students, parents/caregivers, staff and external providers
  • Grow participation and foster a positive sporting culture across the school
  • Oversee and coordinate the Duke of Edinburgh programme, including organisation, compliance and student support. You will increase participation and build interest among our students for this programme

 Skills and Experience

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education, Exercise and Sports Science, Sport Development and Management, or similar
    OR
    Demonstrated experience in a sports management, administrative or sports coordinator role
  • Strong managerial and administrative experience, with the ability to oversee multiple programmes and priorities effectively
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and positive relationships across the school community
  • Proven leadership capability and the ability to motivate and inspire young women
  • Highly organised, proactive and solutions focused

Teacher Aide – Literacy and Numeracy Support

Fixed Term – Terms 2 and 3
4 Hours per week

Nga Tawa Diocesan School is seeking a motivated and supportive Teacher Aide to work one-on-one with a student to help strengthen her literacy and numeracy skills. We are particularly looking for someone with strong numeracy capability and a passion for helping students grow in confidence and understanding.

Previous experience as a Teacher Aide or Primary Teacher would be ideal. The successful applicant will be patient, reliable and able to build a positive working relationship with the student they are supporting.

This is a fixed-term position for Terms 2 and 3 (approximately 30 weeks), working 4 hours per week.
