Designed to provide a comprehensive, hands-on experience, our International Equestrian Programme invites students to delve into the world of horse care, riding, and competition, all while receiving personalised mentoring and training from experienced coaches. Participants will not only learn the ins and outs of managing their own pony but also gain access to a variety of riding opportunities, including tailored one-on-one lessons in our state-of-the-art all-weather facilities.
School ponies are available to our international riders.
Domestic students wanting an equestrian experience can apply to join the programme for two terms if there are vacancies available.
To ride a school pony at Nga Tawa, the cost is $3750 per term.
This cost applies to true beginners, novice riders and intermediate riders.
True beginner riders will share a horse for a maximum of two terms.
Costs for advanced riders will be negotiated on a case-by-case basis as we may need to lease or purchase a pony to cater for their needs. These costs will be advised upon application.
The school pony fee includes all of the running costs for the pony such as supplementary feed, hay, farrier, tack and rugs, stale shavings, vet requirements as well as grazing, tuition and stable.
If girls are entering outside competitions, transport for her school pony is available on our school truck. It is charged at $4.40 per km and is shared between all horses on board.
