It’s rather ironic Ella ended up working at Nga Tawa. Given her grandparents, her mum, aunty, uncle and now sister are all teachers, Ella was determined to break the cycle and did a Bachelor of Animal Science at Massey instead. She’d always been interested in animal health and she loves horses, so she majored in equine studies. Little did she know it would lead her to working at a school!
Ella is a familiar face in New Zealand Pony Club circles. She coaches at Pony Clubs all over the Manawatu-Whanganui, including here at Nga Tawa Pony Club (she has her NZPCA D+ coaching certificate). Her focus discipline is show hunter, but she enjoys dressage and eventing.
In her role as Equestrian Coach/Academy Assistant, Ella oversees the school pony programme. She works Monday to Friday and is on hand to help out with weekend work too.
