Visiting Coach

Sally is a Nga Tawa Old Girl (1970-75). She was head of Barker House, Head of Netball, Head of Equestrian and a Sacristan.

She holds Qualifications in a Master of Business Studies (Valuation and Property Management) from Massey University, a Diploma in Physical Education from University of Otago and a Diploma in Teaching from Christchurch Teachers College.

Following an extensive career riding horses in Eventing, competing to the very top level (including winning an Olympic silver medal) Sally is still actively competing in the discipline of show jumping. Teaching riding is a natural progression for Sally particularly as she trained at university in Business Studies and Physical Education and also as a school teacher then following up with working in this career in secondary schools on and off over a period of about 30 years.

As a teacher of riding Sally has had wide-ranging experience from taking Pony Club teams to Eventing Championships, to Pony and Area teams to Show Jumping Championships and Horse of the Year Show. Sally also travelled to Nanjing in China for the Youth Olympics as the coach of the gold medal winning Emily Fraser.
